Singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, has passed away. She was 54 years old.
NBC News confirmed that the singer died on January 12 after experiencing a medical emergency.
Her mother, Priscilla Presley, confirmed in a statement, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.” “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever met. We ask for privacy as we attempt to cope with this severe loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. There will be no further comment at this time.”
Earlier that day, NBC News reported that personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station received a call about a woman who was not breathing near the 5900 block of Normandy Drive in Calabasas.
Authorities confirmed to NBC News that they treated the woman at her home before placing her in an ambulance and taking her to a nearby hospital.
Priscilla Presley spoke on Facebook about Lisa Marie Presley’s medical emergency and asked for prayers for her daughter and family. She also said that her daughter is “receiving the best care possible.”
“My dear daughter Lisa Marie has been taken to the hospital,” the 77-year-old actor said on Jan. 12.
Lisa Marie Presley was a musician who released three albums throughout her career, beginning in 2003 with her first pop rock release, “To Whom It May Concern”.
Their last album, “Storm and Grace”, was released in May 2012.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Lisa Marie Presley was just 9 years old when her father died in 1977. She was the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, making her heir to their estate.
Their last public appearance was earlier this week on January 10 at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles. She was there with her mother to cheer on Austin Butler, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama, Motion Picture for his portrayal of the “Suspicious Minds” singer in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 musical drama.
Lisa Marie Presley has spoken about Butler’s performance on social media several times before. He also attended special screenings of the biopic with his family, including one at Graceland.
